Ink and Allergic Reactions
- Even experienced tattoo artists will occasionally encounter clients who develop allergic reactions to tattoo pigments. Allergies can occur for many reasons and may develop at any stage of life. Most mild reactions can be treated with antihistamines.
- Not every adverse reaction is caused by an allergy — sometimes the body may reject the tattoo, recognising it as a foreign substance. If rejection is suspected, advise the client to seek medical attention immediately.
- Do not suggest simple home remedies such as “apply lotion twice a day”. Professional medical care is required to prevent infection or scarring.
- Rejection and infection can appear similar, so if infection is suspected, the client must see a medical professional without delay.
- These rare reactions are most often linked to reds, magentas, and browns, though they can occur with any colour. This does not indicate a defect in the pigment; rather, the client’s individual body chemistry may react to the pigment’s base properties.
- Artists should always ask clients about known sensitivities — including allergies to other tattoo inks, cosmetics, or a history of sensitive skin.
Our Commitment
- Quantum Tattoo Ink assures all customers that every pigment is rigorously tested.
- Our inks are developed in collaboration with experienced tattoo artists who have tested each pigment on real tattoos through full healing cycles.
- This process ensures the
correct particle size, density, and viscosity, and verifies that no allergic properties are present.
We never release a pigment until it meets our premium standards — the same products we proudly use ourselves.
Ink Ingredients
- Quantum Tattoo Inks are made using organic pigments, vegetable glycerine, and ethyl alcohol.
- Full ingredient and safety details can be found in each colour’s MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheet).
